Particularly popular with scammers is the world-famous watch brand Rolex. The Submariner model (introduced in 1953) is considered a classic luxury timepiece. Its most important features include the rotating bezel and large hands. Current models have a price tag of between 8,000 and 10,000 euros for the stainless steel version. In fact, the Submariner costs the equivalent of €100! So-called super fakes, which look extremely similar to the original, can cost up to €1,500.
These watches are all fake! The original Submariner was the first dive watch to be water-resistant to 100 meters. Now it can even reach 300 meters.
Anyone purchasing counterfeit products for private purposes need not fear any penalties. The German Embassy in Bangkok noted that customs authorities will not take action against goods brought into Germany in luggage.
